Our 7 Day Multi-Engine Course

We offer a single visit, weeklong, multi-engine course. This starts on day 1 with ground school and airplane familiarization.  Beginning on day 2, we fly twice to three times daily culminating on day 7* with the AMEL check flight with a DPE. Training may also include a 2:30 minute cross country flight to learn enroute procedures of multi-engine flying.  A few weeks prior to your arrival, you will be given, either in PDF format or paper versions, copies of the AFM/POH, QRH, EMERGENCY/NORMAL CHECKLISTS, PERFORMANCE, and the STUDY GUIDE.  In addition, you will have access to Chopper’s Library which has downloadable files on a variety of study material in all subjects, including multi-engine flying.  This is where you will find and download your training syllabus, End of Course Oral Exam, and online flashcards.  There is also a section that can be used in conjunction with an iPad to help you learn the Avidyne IFD540 IFR navigator and autopilot systems used in all Chopper Aviation aircraft.  All training is done under FAR part 61 and the current ACS.

A deposit is required with the balance paid or refunded based on the current hourly rate.  This does not include the DPE check ride fee.  We currently use 3 DPE’s and check rides are scheduled based on availability.  Check Rides will be scheduled prior to the start of your training.  In most instances, such as adverse weather forecasts, check rides can be rescheduled within 1 to 2 days of original date.

We provide free transportation to/from KSTL. We have rental cars available and a variety of inexpensive unique lodging. If you fly in, there is ample outside ramp tie down or hangar space may be arranged. While you're in training, your family can enjoy the sights and the many things to do in St. Louis and the surrounding area. See below or call us for more information.

MINIMUM REQUIREMNTS:

·  Applicants need to have their Commercial ASEL license with an instrument rating.

·  A minimum of 350 total flight hours and be instrument current.

·  Have flown at least 5 hours in the past 45 days prior to the start of training.

·  Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.

**Your completion may vary.  7 days is the normal course length.
